How these dates are counted
Each date counts back calendar days from today, so weekends and public holidays are included. Billing periods, return windows and medical look-backs usually work this way.
The answer is worked out in your browser from your device's date, so it's correct in your time zone whenever you open the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is today counted?
No. Today is day zero, so 1 day ago is yesterday. That's how calendars, Excel and most deadline rules count.
Does this skip weekends?
The calculator counts calendar days, including weekends. The page for each common value also shows the business-day date, which skips Saturdays and Sundays but not public holidays.
Can I count from a date other than today?
Yes. Use the add or subtract days tool to start from any date, or the date difference calculator to count the days between two dates.
