Where 1 day comes up
One day from today is simply tomorrow. People usually look it up when an email says "within 24 hours" or a parcel promises next-day delivery and they want the date written out, or when they are working in a different time zone and want to be sure which calendar day "tomorrow" is.
1 day in weeks and months
1 day is 1 day.
That's 24 hours, or 1,440 minutes.
Counting 1 calendar day includes weekends. For a deadline in working days, use the business-day date above, which skips Saturdays and Sundays but not public holidays.
How to count it yourself
Put your finger on today and count 1 square to the right, wrapping to the next row at the end of the week. Don't count today itself.
A quick check: 1 day from today always falls 1 weekday after today's. The full weeks cancel out, so only the leftover 1 day moves the weekday.
