How breeding works in Palworld 1.0

This calculator answers four questions with the breeding table from the Palworld 1.0 game files: what two pals hatch into, which pairs produce a pal you want, the fewest generations from a pal you own to a target, and everything you can breed from the pals already in your Palbox. It covers all 299 pals in the 1.0 data, including variants and the 11 Terraria collaboration pals, and every one of the 44,850 possible pairs.

Every pal has a hidden breeding power, and a lower number means a rarer pal: Lamball is 3050, Anubis 480 and Jetragon 70. For most pairs the game averages the two parents' breeding power, rounding up, and the egg is the pal whose own breeding power is closest to that average. A list of special combinations overrides the average, so Relaxaurus and Sparkit always give Relaxaurus Lux. Two parents of the same species always give that species, and 26 pals, including Jetragon, Frostallion, Shadowbeak and Grizzbolt, can only be bred that way.

The 1.0 update reworked many results, so combos from Early Access guides are often wrong now. Penking and Bushi used to give Anubis and now give Sibelyx. Katress and Wixen are the only pair where gender matters: a female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis, and the reverse gives Wixen Noct. Mutations added in 1.0 can raise an egg's stats but do not change which pal hatches, so this calculator does not model them, and it does not predict passive skills or IVs.

How to Use Palworld Breeding Calculator

  1. 1Pick a mode: Parents → Child, Find Parents, Breeding Path or My Pals
  2. 2Type a pal's name or Paldeck number and choose it from the list
  3. 3In Find Parents, pairs made of the most common pals come first; filter by a parent's name to narrow the list
  4. 4Add the pals you own under My Pals, and the other modes mark pairs that use them
  5. 5Click Copy link to this result to share the exact combo or path

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. The breeding table was extracted from the Palworld 1.0 game files by the open-source Pal Calc project and matches its database v28. Every result here is a direct lookup in that table rather than an estimate from the formula.
Why doesn't an old combo work any more?
Palworld 1.0 changed many breeding results. Penking and Bushi, the best-known Early Access route to Anubis, now hatch Sibelyx. Anubis still has 234 parent pairs, and Find Parents lists them all.
Does it matter which parent is male or female?
Only for Katress and Wixen. A female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis, and a male Katress with a female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. For every other pair the egg is the same either way, though you still need one male and one female.
Which pals can't be bred from two different pals?
26 pals only come from two parents of their own species, including Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius, Necromus, Shadowbeak, Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Orserk and Faleris. The full list is on this page under the calculator.
How does the Breeding Path mode choose partners?
It finds the fewest generations from your starting pal to the target, breeding each new egg with one partner. When several partners give a route of the same length, it picks pals from your My Pals list first, then the most common pals, meaning those with the highest breeding power. It assumes you can get any partner it names.
Where is My Pals saved?
In your browser's local storage on this device. It is not sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Is this site made by Pocketpair?
No. Palworld is a trademark of Pocketpair, Inc., and this is an independent fan tool.

How to breed popular pals

Step-by-step guides for the pals players search for most, with the easiest parent pairs and what each pal breeds into.

Pals that only breed from their own species

No mixed pair produces these 26 pals in Palworld 1.0. To breed one you need a male and a female of that pal, which means catching or hatching two first. They can still be used as parents for other pals.

Bastigor, Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, Cave Bat, Dandilord, Faleris, Frostallion, Green Slime, Grizzbolt, Gumoss (Flower), Hartalis, Jetragon, Lyleen, Mimog, Necromus, Neptilius, Orserk, Paladius, Panthalus, Selyne, Shadowbeak, Shaolong, Silvance, Xenogard, Xenolord, Xenovader.

The one gender-specific combination

Katress and Wixen are the only pair whose egg depends on the parents' genders. A female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis; A male Katress with a female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. Every other pair gives the same pal whichever parent is male.

Breeding power of all 299 pals

Lower breeding power means a rarer pal. The last column counts the parent pairs that hatch each pal, including two of the same species.
